Tech Specialist - Oracle Administrator

Overview

As an Oracle DBA at SCC, you will lead and evolve enterprise Oracle Database services that support business-critical applications. You’ll partner with Infrastructure, Application, Security and Project teams to ensure highly available, resilient, and secure databases while driving modernization, automation and operational excellence. You will own delivery, incident resolution, lifecycle activities, and governance to meet service levels. This role offers a chance to influence large-scale systems in a hybrid, collaborative environment with clear impact on customers and operations.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of enterprise Oracle Database services across production and non-production environments
• Lead the technical resolution of complex Oracle Database incidents, service requests and problem investigations with root cause analysis
• Lead Oracle Database lifecycle activities including implementation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migrations, maintenance and decommissioning
• Ensure Oracle Database platforms meet agreed service levels for availability, resilience, performance, recoverability and security
• Design, implement and continuously improve high availability, disaster recovery, replication and database security solutions
• Lead Oracle Database technical delivery for infrastructure and application initiatives
• Drive automation, standardisation and operational excellence across Oracle Database services
• Define, maintain and continuously improve Oracle Database standards, procedures and documentation
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Backup, Monitoring, Application, Security and Project teams to deliver scalable, resilient and secure Oracle Database services

Key requirements

• Extensive experience administering large-scale enterprise Oracle Database environments
• Expert knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, administration and troubleshooting
• Proven experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production systems
• Strong expertise across Oracle high availability, disaster recovery, database security and replication technologies
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical documentation skills
• Ability to provide technical leadership while working collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
