Your new company A well-established food manufacturing business in the Belfast area is seeking a Technical Assistant to join its Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a food industry professional looking to further develop their career within food safety, quality and compliance.

Working closely with an experienced Technical Manager, you will gain exposure to customer requirements, auditing, specifications, supplier management and quality systems across a diverse product portfolio. Your new role As Technical Assistant, you will support the Technical Manager in ensuring food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements are consistently maintained across the business.

You will play a key role in audit preparation, quality management systems, customer specifications, internal auditing and complaint investigation responsibilities will include supporting SALSA and Organic audits, completing customer questionnaires and specifications, conducting internal audits, monitoring CCPs and GMP standards, undertaking shelf-life and microbiological sampling, managing traceability requirements and supporting non-conformance investigations.

You will also work closely with suppliers and production teams to ensure compliance standards are maintained and continuous improvements are identified and implemented. What you'll need to succeed Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a Technical or Quality role within a food manufacturing environment Food Hygiene, Food Science, Regulatory qualification or relevant degree Strong understanding of food safety, quality and compliance requirements Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to conduct audits, investigations and manage corrective actions effectively Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle Level 3 Food Safety, HACCP and retailer standards experience would be advantageous What you'll get in return Competitive salary, dependent on experience Monday to Friday working pattern with an early Friday finish Opportunity to work closely with an experienced Technical Manager and broaden your technical expertise Exposure to audits, specifications, traceability, supplier approval and food safety systems Health Care Cash Plan, Pension Scheme, Employee Discount and Free Parking Enhanced Maternity and Paternity benefits Excellent opportunity to develop your career within a growing food manufacturing business and gain valuable experience across multiple technical disciplines What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
