Technical Solution Architect - Data Center Networking & WAN routing

Overview

In this role you act as a technical evangelist and trusted advisor to drive enterprise data center and WAN routing opportunities. You partner with sales, engineering, and partners to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, shaping complex deals and innovative use cases. You’ll share thought leadership, mentor teammates, and represent HPE at industry events. The focus is on data center networking, WAN routing, and automation within a fast-evolving edge-to-cloud landscape.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical architect early in complex sales cycles, translating business needs into scalable data center and WAN solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with sales engineering, account management, channel partners, and Product/Engineering teams.
• Support sales engineering with requirements, solution design guidance, deep-dive presentations, POC tests, seminars, and tender responses.
• Become a go-to expert on HPE product portfolio and automation solutions, and share industry trends.
• Influence technical strategy and disseminate thought leadership on networking innovations.
• Present at internal and external events and mentor junior technologists.

Key requirements

• Proven track record in a customer-facing pre-sales role selling networking equipment or conducting design/vendor selection.
• Hands-on capability to support complex POC tests with new products/technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-national collaboration skills.
• Credible technical interaction with Enterprise and Service Provider Engineering on data center and WAN technologies.
• Outstanding communication skills in English (verbal and written); additional European languages are a plus.

• Networking hardware ecosystems (Juniper/HPE, Nokia, Arista, Cisco)
