Job Description Testing Technician£35,360 - £37,440DeesideDays Only (Mon-Fri)gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Testing Technician to work at their facility based near DeesidePerformance ObjectivesExecute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on cables and heater systems to verify performance and quality standardsPerform routine and specialized electrical testing on mineral-insulated cable systemsPrepare cable samples and perform medium voltage terminations for testingConduct tensile and hardness testing as part of QA/QC processesSupport R&D initiatives aimed at improving cable performanceManage and maintain inventory of testing materials and equipmentUphold and promote strict adherence to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and industry regulationsMaintain accurate, thorough records of test procedures, calibrations, and maintenance activitiesProvide general production support as neededPerson SpecificationTesting Equipment Experience (Preferred):Line frequency HiPot (up to 50kV)Very low frequency (VLF) HiPotDC Insulation TestingTan-Delta TestingPower Analysis MetersInductance and Capacitance MetersHigh Current InjectionTime Domain Reflectometry (TDR) Fault FindingData Acquisition and Logging EquipmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:5+ years of QA/QC experience with electrical systems and test equipmentStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Solid understanding of electrical systems and safety standards within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in MS Office for record-keeping and report generation. Practical experience with hand and power tools.
