About the RoleWe’re recruiting motivated individuals to join our established programme, designed to develop the next generation of rail professionals. This is a unique opportunity within the Rail sector, combining hands-on experience with structured training and dedicated mentorship.

Upon successful completion, you could progress into roles such as Signalling & Telecoms Technician or Team Leader in Rail Engineering. With over 25 years of industry experience, Vital Human Resources works alongside all major Tier One rail companies in the UK, including Network Rail. What You’ll Be DoingDuring your trainee programme,

you will

  • Work alongside experienced S&T Engineers
  • Gain hands-on experience in rail infrastructure
  • Carry out installation and maintenance activities on-site
  • Apply your learning in real-world environmentsYour formal training will be delivered by an approved provider and fully funded by us.
  • You’ll receive a minimum of 7 hours pay per day while attending training courses
  • Supported by a dedicated Training Officer and ongoing mentorship
  • Guided by your Line Manager to help shape your long-term careerWhat We’re Looking ForTo succeed in this role, you should bring:
  • A genuine interest in a hands-on, trade-focused career
  • Energy and enthusiasm for a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentYou’ll also need:
  • Strong practical skills and awareness of health & safety
  • Flexibility to work shifts (days, nights, weekends) and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • A proactive, “can-do” attitude with good problem-solving skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • PTS holder (advantageous)
  • Rail experience (advantageous)What We Offer
