Job Description Location: Brierley HillSalary: £39,408 + On-Call AllowanceHours: Monday to Friday | 8am–4pm | 1 in 3 On-Call RotaTaylor Stevenson are recruiting on behalf of a growing transport and logistics operation for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team in Brierley Hill.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business experiencing continued growth, with container transport being brought in-house alongside its existing refrigerated transport operation. We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner with proven container experience who can play a key role in the day-to-day planning and coordination of the transport operation.

Experience within refrigerated transport would be advantageous, although this is not essential. The RoleWorking as part of a team of three and reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient planning and coordination of the transport operation.

The business currently operates a fleet of approximately 10 articulated vehicles and is expanding its operation by bringing container trucks in-house. As a result, previous experience within container transport is essential for this position.

The role will involve working closely with drivers and the wider transport team to ensure an efficient and reliable service is maintained. Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning and coordinating daily transport operationsManaging container transport movementsCoordinating vehicles and drivers effectivelySupporting the continued growth of the container operationWorking closely with the Transport Manager and wider planning teamResponding to operational issues and providing solutions where requiredSupporting refrigerated transport operations where necessaryParticipating in the out-of-hours on-call rotaAbout YouThe successful candidate will have: Previous experience in container transport planning – essentialProven experience within a transport planning environmentStrong organisational and communication skillsThe ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced transport operationGood problem-solving and decision-making skillsThe ability to work as part of a small teamFlexibility to participate in the out-of-hours rotaPrevious refrigerated transport experience would be advantageousWorking Pattern & On-CallThe standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00am – 4:00pm , with exact hours to be confirmed.
