Transport Supervisor

Taskmaster Resources Ltd is recruiting an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our client's busy transport operation in Doncaster. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and transport compliance knowledge who enjoys managing people and keeping operations running smoothly.

Reporting to the CDC Manager, you will oversee the daily transport operation, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently and safety, compliance and customer service standards are maintained. Pay - £15.81 per hour | Paid weekly (£37k per year) Shift pattern - Tuesday to Saturday, 9am–7pm *** Temp to perm after 12 weeks ***

Your responsibilities will include

Supervising daily transport operations and meeting agreed performance targets. Leading and developing the operations team, including training, performance reviews and managing absence. Planning driver and vehicle rotas to meet daily and weekly requirements.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety, operator licence requirements, road traffic legislation and tachograph policies. Communicating with customers and colleagues to resolve issues and maintain excellent service. Monitoring operational costs, vehicle checks, returns and system reporting.

Identifying improvements to efficiency and supporting a positive working environment.

What we're looking for

Previous experience in transport or warehouse operations, with strong transport compliance knowledge. Proven supervisory or people management experience. Experience using computerised transport planning, scheduling or driver management systems, such as Microlise.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday, 9am–7pm. Experience within a unionised environment would be advantageous.
