Job Description Trust Accounts Assistant Manager – Exeter Exeter, Devon Hybrid & Flexible Working Competitive Salary + Benefits We are recruiting a Trust Accounts Assistant Manager on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm in Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trust Accounts Senior or Assistant Manager to join a specialist team working with trusts, landed estates, farming families, agricultural businesses, and rural entrepreneurs.

The role offers an excellent mix of accounts, tax compliance, and advisory work, with genuine opportunities for career progression. The Role As a Trust Accounts Assistant Manager, you will oversee the delivery of accounting and tax services to a varied portfolio of trusts and private clients.

Your responsibilities will include

Overseeing the preparation and completion of annual trust accounts and tax returns Reviewing personal tax returns and preparing more complex returns Preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and companies Preparing Inheritance Tax returns and Capital Gains Tax property returns Overseeing bookkeeping and management accounting services Preparing forecasts and financial projections Analysing financial information to support client decision-making Identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities Drafting client correspondence and liaising with HMRC Supporting clients with inheritance tax and capital gains tax matters Attending client meetings and developing strong client relationships Supporting junior team members and reviewing their work Contributing to networking and business development activities About You You'll have: ACA or ACCA qualified, finalist, AAT qualified, or equivalent experience Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice Good technical knowledge of trust accounts and tax compliance Experience reviewing accounts and tax returns Knowledge of personal, trust, and capital taxes Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach Excellent communication and client relationship skills Good organisational and time management abilities Strong Excel and general IT skills The ability to work independently and take ownership of client work Experience with trusts, landed estates, agricultural businesses, farming families, or private clients would be advantageous.
