UK Financial Controller/Head of Finance - Pharma

Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified finance professional to join a growing international organisation as a UK Financial Controller within this leading pharmaceutical business.
This is a broad and hands-on role offering responsibility across financial accounting, taxation, treasury, reporting, audit management, budgeting, and business support activities. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining compliance with UK financial and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare financial statements in accordance with Local GAAP and IFRS. Manage corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
Coordinate and manage external and internal audits. Oversee cash management, payment planning, and bank reconciliations. Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
Provide financial insights and forecasts to support business planning and commercial decision-making. Act as the primary point of contact for finance-related enquiries. Support payroll accounting processes and related reporting requirements.
Help drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems. About You You will be a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable taking ownership of a broad finance remit.
Essential Requirements Qualified Accountant Post-qualification experience in the pharmaceutical sector is essential Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation Experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements Experience of leading a small finance team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exposure to ERP systems and international reporting environments.
