Underwriter - Construction Renewals

In this role you own and develop a construction renewals portfolio, balancing profitability with strong broker partnerships. You’ll influence terms, identify cross-sell opportunities and contribute ideas to the construction proposition. Responsibilities

• Manage an established portfolio of construction renewal business across diverse trades
• Build and develop strong broker relationships to secure profitable renewal terms
• Negotiate renewal terms and handle mid-term adjustments and referrals
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional covers within the portfolio
• Work closely with New Business and Technical Underwriting teams
• Deliver outstanding service to brokers and customers and support team performance and retention
• Bring fresh thinking and market insight to support growth and change within the business

Key requirements

• Construction underwriting experience
• Strong knowledge of Liability and Professional Indemnity risks
• Existing underwriting authority within current insurer
• Experience managing renewal or new business portfolios
• Excellent broker relationship and trading skills
• Strong organisational and pipeline management capability
• Autonomous working style with minimal supervision
• Proactive approach and willingness to contribute ideas
