UX Designer

Overview

In this role you will shape user-centered service experiences as part of Kainos’ Experience Design capability. You’ll lead and grow a small team, collaborating across the business to deliver impactful digital services. You will apply design thinking, user research, and accessibility standards to inform strategy and improve real-world experiences for millions. This is a chance to influence projects end-to-end in a collaborative, people-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Define design strategy and communicate its benefits to senior stakeholders
• Identify ideation methods appropriate to project needs
• Use journey maps to inform business and customer recommendations
• Coordinate prototype production to support user testing and development
• Conduct usability testing and translate findings into design decisions
• Collaborate to create new information architecture based on analysis and research
• Advocate accessibility and AD standards across projects
• Guide teams and stakeholders in user-centered design practices throughout project lifecycles
• Mentor junior team members and represent UX design within Kainos

Key requirements

• Ability to define design strategy and communicate with senior stakeholders
• Experience with ideation methods suited to business context
• Proficiency with journey mapping to inform recommendations
• Experience coordinating prototypes for testing and development
• Ability to conduct usability testing and apply research to design strategy
• Collaboration on IA development based on research
