Position: Geography Teacher Nature: Full-time / Permanent Start Date: September 2026 Salary: Competitive Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Geography Teacher (ECT) to join a thriving independent school in Portsmouth this September. The Geography department is well-resourced, ambitious, and passionate about inspiring students to understand the world around them. Whether you are an ECT beginning your teaching career or an experienced teacher, you will be joining a team that values engaging lessons, strong relationships, and a genuine enthusiasm for developing students’ curiosity about people, places and the environment. The role will involve: • Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with opportunities to contribute at Key Stage 5 where appropriate) • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ geographical knowledge, enquiry skills and understanding of the world • Encouraging curiosity and critical thinking through physical and human geography topics • Supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes through effective teaching, assessment and feedback • Developing students’ confidence in fieldwork, data analysis, map skills and geographical investigation
