Following significant strategic investment and expansion with the acquisition of a Top 50 firm, the business is seeking an experienced VAT Director to strengthen its indirect tax offering in the North and support its ambitious growth plans.

Your new roleAs VAT Director, you will take on a senior leadership role within the tax team, focusing on delivering expert VAT advisory services while helping to drive the strategic growth of the indirect tax function. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, clients, and colleagues across the business.

Leading the delivery of high-quality VAT advisory and compliance servicesActing as a trusted advisor to a broad portfolio of clients across multiple sectorsManaging and developing client relationships, identifying opportunities for growthAdvising on complex VAT matters, including structuring, international VAT, and risk managementSupporting business development and contributing to winning new workLeading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing VAT teamCollaborating with other service lines to provide integrated client solutionsEnsuring technical excellence and keeping up to date with legislative changesWhat you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will be a commercially minded VAT specialist with strong technical expertise and leadership experience.

CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualificationSignificant experience at Senior Manager or Director level in VAT/indirect taxStrong technical knowledge of UK VAT, with international exposure being advantageousProven ability to manage complex client engagementsA track record of developing business and building long-term client relationshipsStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesWhat you'll get in returnYou will join a progressive and ambitious firm offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the VAT offering nationally.
