Vertical Transportation Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, analyse and oversee vertical transportation systems (elevators, escalators and moving walkways) for a range of buildings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on modernisation, new installations and maintenance, shaping high-rise and complex structures. You’ll produce reports and drawings, manage on-site inspections and contribute to project coordination. Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation design concepts and sizing for lifts across building types
• Perform lift traffic analysis (ideally using Elevate)
• Produce reports at RIBA design stages and oversee drawings/specifications for VT projects
• Provide VT engineering expertise on multi-disciplinary projects and coordinate with other engineers
• Inspect installations and witness on-site testing
• Support wider VT team activities and undertake site surveys with resulting reports
• Attend design team and client meetings as required
• Adhere to Safety, Health and Environment policies

Key requirements

• Ideally NVQ4, HNC or equivalent, lift or appropriate engineering qualification
• Extensive vertical transportation experience; preferably from lift contracting or consulting backgrounds
• Strong analytical knowledge of engineering principles
• Team-oriented approach to providing holistic building design solutions
• Advanced proficiency in design software including Elevate, CADD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel, Outlook
