Job Purpose Based at our Leeds Depot the role involves managing the workshop team to ensure equipment is safe, suitable and ready for hire to suit customer requirements. Key skills & Duties Support Engineers and customers with any technical issues Liaise with stores for parts requirements Manages team and ensures workload planned efficiently Consulting with manufacturers regarding specific repairs and warranty issues Monitoring all off-hired equipment ensuring all repairs and damages are recorded correctly Proactively getting machines ready for hire Allocating work to workshop team Supporting office administration with workshop administrative duties Ensuing all Health and safety and quality policies are adhered to and making sure workshop compliance Actively mentoring and training staff Supporting the depot manager with transport operations.
Assisting the depot manager in managing depot/ workshop costs Carry out stock takes on materials to ensure accuracy of the counts Organizing returns, repairs and management of stock in the yard Qualifications & Experience NVQ L3 Plant and machinery LOLER and PUWER inspections and regulations FLT IOSH Managing Safely Driving license Strong mechanical and technical knowledge Excellent communication and organizational skills Knowledge of managing asset and stock counts Previous experience of supervision of a team LPG training Welding Person specification Works on own initiative Creative and puts forward improvements Respects all colleagues and treats people appropriately Actively promotes health & safety Strong leadership skills Supports development of colleagues Problem solving Good communicator Product knowledge Diagnostic knowledge Transport operations Approachable and engaging Team player
