Legal Counsel - Commercial Law | Frankfurt

Our client is an internationally operating group active across multiple industrial and technology-driven sectors, with a central legal function supporting operating companies group-wide rather than a single business unit. The role is positioned as a strategic adviser to these operating companies on general commercial law, with early involvement in business decisions and close coordination with other central functions on regulatory and risk topics.

The role:

• Act as go-to adviser to operating companies on all matters of general commercial law.
• Review, draft and negotiate national and international contracts with business partners.
• Get involved in business decisions at an early stage, identifying opportunities and risks before they arise.
• Instruct and coordinate external lawyers on disputes or unusual contract types.
• Track regulatory developments and work with colleagues across other central functions to manage risk group-wide.
• Use AI tools and legal tech to improve day-to-day efficiency.

What you'll need:

• Both German state law examinations passed.
• Solid experience in general commercial law, gained at a law firm or in an in-house legal department of an internationally operating company.
• Fluent German and English.
• Ability to work independently and explain complex legal issues in clear, practical language.
