Procurement Team Lead

The Role

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to help build and lead the procurement function within a growing biopharmaceutical organisation. The role combines hands-on purchasing, supplier management, team leadership and process development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day procurement activities and provide functional leadership to the procurement team.
• Manage purchasing of materials, equipment and services, including RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations and purchase orders.
• Monitor orders, deliveries and supplier performance, resolving commercial and operational issues.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding and qualification in collaboration with Quality and internal stakeholders.
• Establish effective procurement processes, procedures and performance measures.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and digital procurement systems.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Production, Engineering, Logistics and Finance.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the future procurement organisation.

Profile:

• Several years of operational procurement experience within an industrial environment.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as pharma, biotech, medtech, chemicals or food is advantageous.
• Previous team leadership, coordination or project management experience.
• Strong commercial understanding, including supplier management, RFQs and negotiations.
• ERP experience and exposure to CAPEX or project procurement are advantageous.
• Hands-on, structured approach with the ability to establish processes within a growing organisation.
• Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Fluent German and good working English.
