| Freelance Site Manager | BESS Project | 12-Month Contract | Frankfurt, Germany | Location: Frankfurt, Germany Contract Length: 12 months Contract type: Freelance Start Date: September 2026 Project: Utility-scale 120MW / 240MWh Battery Energy Storage Facility We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the construction and delivery of a 120MW / 240MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Frankfurt.
Working alongside the Project Director and EPC contractors, you will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day site construction activities from mobilization through commissioning. Coordinate civil, electrical and mechanical contractors on site. Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site safety standards. Monitor progress against project milestones and resolve site issues.
Lead subcontractor meetings and provide regular progress reports. Oversee quality inspections, testing and commissioning activities. Liaise with local authorities, suppliers and client representatives.
Requirements
5+ years' experience in a Site Manager or Construction Manager role. Previous experience on BESS, solar, wind, substation or power generation projects. Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and construction practices.
Experience managing multiple contractors and supervising large site teams. Fluent English required; German advantageous.
