Overview

As AlgorithmDeveloper at Via, you will own and evolve core travel algorithms running in production, collaborating with the R&D and DevOps teams in London. You’ll maintain and improve complex codebases and build new services to scale our live systems, directly impacting thousands of daily passengers and clients. The role blends deep algorithmic work with practical software engineering in a growth-focused, global environment. You will work across cross-functional teams to drive reliable, data-driven decision making at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain large, complex codebases implementing Via’s core algorithms
• Develop and sustain multiple mission-critical services
• Deliver immediate impact on performance of booking application and user experience
• Collaborate with DevOps, algorithms developers, and researchers

Key requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on backend development in Python
• Experience with cloud DevOps (Kubernetes) — strong advantage
• Experience in architecture and maintaining cloud systems — strong advantage
• Solid background in software engineering methodologies (Git, CI/CD)
