Algorithmic Trading Developer

Overview

In this role, you design and build high-performance trading engines and related desktop tools to support electronic trading. You’ll contribute to algo strategy design and real-time systems, working within the Innovation & Technology team to advance a technology-driven bank. You will build real-time, data-driven components and collaborate with other engineering teams to scale trading capabilities. The opportunity offers impact on trading infrastructure and hands-on work with modern tech in a leading European private bank.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality Java engines for trading algo orders and liquidity seeking
• Develop algorithmic trading engines, associated strategies and supporting desktop tooling
• Contribute to algo strategy design and the build-out of real-time trading engines
• Build real-time trading desktops using React
• Develop data analytics, storage and processing capabilities

Key requirements

• Strong Java engineer with performant, real-time server code
• Solid understanding of Equity market trading in Europe
• Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Keen interest in understanding wider systems in the trading stack
• Passion for continuous improvement and creativity
• Proactive, collaborative approach with other engineering teams
• Commitment to industry and engineering best practices
• Desirable: experience in equity sell-side trading
• Desirable: experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Desirable: experience with React and building real-time web pages
