Architectural Glazing & Cladding Designer

Architectural Glazing Managing the design process from project award through to completion, ensuring programmes and budgets are achieved; Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring design records are kept up to date Liaising with Estimating, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management and Installation teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and commercially; Reviewing client specifications and technical information, identifying discrepancies and proposing practical design solutions where appropriate Attending design coordination meetings with Main Contractors, Architects Comparing tender drawings with subsequent revisions, identifying design changes and highlighting potential commercial implications to the Estimating Team; Raising purchase requests and supporting the Purchasing function where required; and Assisting the Projects Team with weekly updates on drawing progress to facilitate early communication with Main Contractor Teams and maintain programmes.

The ideal Applicant will be a Designer Architectural Glazing Strong AutoCAD skills; Experience working with systems such as Schco, Aluprof and Reynaers (similar systems will also be considered); Knowledge of system estimating software eg: Schucal, Logikal would be an advantageous (experience of other systems acceptable); Excellent understanding of technical drawings and construction details; Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to design; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; and A collaborative approach and the confidence to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and clients.
