This senior leadership role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Development Infrastructure Team with a strong focus on delivering high-quality built environment projects. The position ensures technical excellence, drives commercial performance, and oversees the successful delivery of a diverse project portfolio.
It also works closely with the Team Director to proactively build the opportunity pipeline and support the strategic growth of the discipline. You will play a key role in leading project delivery and contributing to operational and growth strategies.
Responsibilities include providing leadership across a range of projects—spanning infrastructure, drainage, highways, and flood risk management. We are seeking an experienced Chartered Associate Director with a strong background in civil or infrastructure engineering.

Providing effective team leadership and professional development. Providing technical leadership on complex civil engineering projects, ensuring high-quality design and delivery. Ensuring high standards of financial management for overall team budgets, income and expenditure.
Identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and driving revenue growth. Working closely with other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions. Driving innovation in sustainable and low-carbon infrastructure design.
Contributing to the overall financial performance of the company. Maintain professional qualifications and develop technical ability to match industry best practice. Overseeing multiple projects including infrastructure, drainage, highways, and flood risk management and ensuring high quality and profitable delivery.
Excellent project management - including appointments, fees, workload allocation, project checking and troubleshooting to ensure quality and creativity in proposed solutions. Monitoring that infrastructure engineering design principles (e.g. drainage networks, external levels) and other civil engineering aspects (e.g. flood risk, vehicle tracking), are applied/addressed appropriately on team projects, undertaking reviews and providing team and practice wide guidance and coaching where required.
Monitoring that relevant regulations and codes of practice are applied to team projects, providing team and practice wide guidance where required. Seek, identify, develop and pursue opportunities for new and existing business development.
Representing the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings. Providing effective team leadership – including resource allocation, performance management and recognitionManaging team performance, recruitment, and professional development.

Implementing digital design tools and emerging technologies. Setting and managing budgets for the civil engineering division. Provide update reports to Directors for monitoring and planning purposes. Actively support CPD activity across the practice and at internal Academy events.
