Associate Director, Solutions Architect, Insurance Operations & Domain Solutions

Overview

In this role you will lead delivery Programs by creating modern solution architectures and guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results. You will shape clients’ technology strategies, roadmaps and complex architectures across the full lifecycle. You’ll mentor junior staff, drive thought leadership, and contribute to business development in the Insurance domain. Based in London with hybrid working, you’ll join a collaborative, impact‑driven practice focused on modernising insurance through technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery programmes with modern solution architectures and design governance
• Support clients with technology strategies, roadmaps and delivery programmes
• Act as tech lead across project lifecycles and oversee multiple workstreams
• Provide design governance and quality assurance to keep programmes on track
• Lead thought leadership and capability development within the practice
• Coach junior team members and define/implement accelerators
• Drive business development and bid participation including proposals and client presentations
• Define technology strategy and target architectures in client engagements
• Support diversity and inclusive culture initiatives within the Insurance practice

Key requirements

• Proven solution architecture experience and end-to-end architecture delivery
• Experience delivering digital transformation with cross‑platform integration
• Insurance industry delivery experience (Commercial Lines, Personal Lines) or deep domain knowledge
• Understanding of end-to-end IT architecture and key systems in insurance
• Knowledge of architectural domains (data, integration, application, security, infrastructure)
• Experience with cloud concepts and governance in architecture delivery
• Strong stakeholder management with senior clients and internal teams
• Ability to lead teams/workstreams in complex digital programmes and adapt to agile/waterfall
• Experience with architecture artefacts (designs, reference architectures, specifications)
• Familiarity with vendor assessment/selection and insurance vendors
• Desirable: cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure), insurance applications (Guidewire, Duck Creek), Jira/Confluence, CI/CD tools
• Enterprise/solution architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF)
