Great attendance doesn't happen by chance—it starts with the right people behind the scenes. An Outstanding secondary school in Slough is looking to appoint a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

You'll become a key point of contact for students and families, helping to improve attendance, remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the best opportunity to succeed.

Working within a supportive pastoral team, you'll enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same and your contribution will have a genuine impact across the school community. The Opportunity You'll lead the school's attendance processes while working collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies to promote excellent attendance and punctuality.

Your responsibilities will include

Monitoring and recording daily attendance across the school Contacting parents and carers regarding student absences Identifying attendance patterns and producing reports for senior leaders Supporting attendance interventions and student meetings Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS Liaising with external agencies where additional support is required Ensuring attendance procedures remain compliant with statutory guidance Working Here This Outstanding secondary school has a strong reputation for academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care and a welcoming school culture.

What You'll Bring The school is seeking an organised and approachable individual who enjoys working with people and has excellent communication skills.

Previous experience in attendance, school administration, pastoral support or a similar administrative role would be advantageous. The ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities and build positive relationships with students and families is essential.
