Overview In this Backend Engineer role, you will build scalable, reliable systems and APIs powering our customer-facing products, internal data platforms, and e-commerce capabilities. You will design extensible architectures to quickly launch new products and integrate with third-party services.
You'll own your work end-to-end, from scoping and design to deployment and operations, in a fast-growing healthtech environment. This hybrid, office-present role lets you contribute to a mission that improves patients' lives.
Responsibilities Develop scalable and reliable backend systems Build core functionality for customer-facing and internal products and data platforms Design extensible architectures to enable rapid product launches Integrate with third-party systems Develop APIs for web and mobile platforms Own end-to-end delivery from planning to production operations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impact Key requirements Experience building web backends in Node.js/Typescript or willingness to learn on the job Familiarity with scalable cloud architectures, design patterns and best practices Practical experience with CI/CD and IaC Experience with relational databases and search engines Experience with TDD and testable code (unit, integration, performance) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to zoom in on details while aligning with big-picture goals Hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days per week strong communication ownership mindset continuous learning Node.js Typescript cloud architectures
