Civil Engineer (Water & Utilities)Location: Cardiff or BristolType: PermanentWorking Pattern: Hybrid (2/3 days in the office)Are you a Civil Engineer with experience in the UK water sector looking to develop your career on major infrastructure programmes?
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join a growing team in Cardiff or Bristol, supporting the delivery of a multi-billion-pound pipeline of investment projects across AMP8 and beyond. Working alongside experienced Senior and Principal Engineers, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure schemes for UK Water Authorities.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while receiving genuine support towards professional development, chartership, and long-term career progression. The RoleAs a Civil Engineer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including: New and replacement potable water mainsFoul drainage and CSO remediation schemesSustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)Conventional surface water drainage designCivil engineering design and modelling activitiesTechnical assessments, calculations, and reportingCoordination with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholdersSupporting project delivery across multiple concurrent assignmentsYou will be encouraged to take ownership of your work, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to successful project outcomes for clients across the water sector.
About YouWe are interested in speaking with candidates who have: At least 3 years' experience within the UK water industryExperience in potable water, surface water and/or foul water design or constructionA Civil Engineering degree, ideally at Master's levelProgress towards, or a desire to achieve, professional qualification through ICE or CIWEMExperience using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, or similar 3D design and modelling softwareKnowledge of Water Authority approval processes including S104 and S106 agreementsExperience working with SuDS Approval BodiesThe ability to manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesA proactive, methodical approach to problem solvingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environmentWhat's on Offer?
