NegotiableKent, England Permanent Civil Engineering Lead (Senior Civils Lead)OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Lead to manage and deliver a range of civil engineering design projects while leading a small team.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer with strong technical expertise in drainage and infrastructure design, combined with leadership experience and client-facing capability. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a small team of civil engineers and techniciansOversee the delivery of civil engineering designs across multiple projectsTake responsibility for below ground drainage design, including: Drainage strategiesFlood Risk Assessments (FRA)SuDS designLiaise with statutory authorities and external stakeholdersReview and check design work to ensure quality and complianceSupport project delivery from concept through to completionRepresent the business in meetings with clients and third partiesRequirementsEssentialMinimum 10 years' experience in civil engineering designProven experience leading or managing a small teamStrong knowledge of: Civil engineering design principlesBelow ground drainage systemsFlood risk assessments and associated approvalsWorking with statutory authoritiesExcellent communication and client-facing skillsDesirableChartered Engineer (CEng) or close to achieving ChartershipExperience in highway design and infrastructure projectsBroad knowledge across all aspects of civil engineering designCandidate ProfileStrong technical background with a hands-on approachConfident leader who can mentor and guide junior staffCommercially aware with good project management skillsFlexible and pragmatic-able to take a "view" where needed (as per client culture)Additional InfoThe client is open-minded and may consider candidates who don't tick every box but demonstrate strong potentialThere are also opportunities within the business for graduate and senior structural engineers, if relevant referrals arise
