Job Description Client Accountant – Greater Manchester Location: Greater Manchester / Hybrid / Remote Position Type: Permanent, Full-time | Client Accountant Industry: Accountancy Practice Salary: Competitive, depending on experience About the Role We’re representing a modern, award-winning and cloud-based accountancy practice based in Greater Manchester.

The firm works closely with entrepreneurs and growing businesses, providing high-quality accounting, tax and financial insight to help clients grow profitably and efficiently. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Client Accountant to join their collaborative and forward-thinking team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who wants to develop their technical skills, take ownership of client work and progress their career within a modern practice environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare accounts, corporation tax returns, management accounts and accountant’s references through to review stage Review director self-assessment tax returns and client-prepared VAT returns Manage complex client queries and provide clear, commercially focused solutions Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and flag potential scope creep to the Client Manager Review VAT returns prepared by Accounting Technicians and provide constructive feedback on bookkeeping errors Ensure client work is completed accurately and submitted within relevant deadlines Deliver delegated Xero and Dext training to clients and colleagues Conduct regular client reviews and provide training, guidance and proactive financial insights Build strong, long-term relationships with a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial clients Contribute to the continued improvement of processes and client service within the practice Ideal Candidate Profile Currently studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA or ACA Previous experience working within an accountancy practice Experience preparing accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax work Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software Practical experience using Xero and Dext within a practice environment Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work Excellent communication and client relationship skills Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to add value Willing to learn, develop and respond positively to constructive feedback Proactive, driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Benefits & Perks Competitive salary Profit-share scheme Cash-back medical scheme Life cover Flexible and hybrid working opportunities Holiday buy-back scheme – up to 5 additional days per year Additional day off for your birthday Clear career development and progression pathways Supportive and forward-thinking working environment Modern cloud-based accounting systems and technology Opportunity to work closely with entrepreneurial and growing businesses
