Client Accounting Manager

Job reference: O912908Closing date: 2026-10-31OverviewOur Client is a global specialist in corporate, fund and active wealth services and is looking for a Client Accounting Manager to build, lead and manage a team of Accountants and Bookkeepers at various levels, manage the workflow of the accounting function and ensure timely delivery of technically accurate financial statements at a profit.

The Client Accounting Manager will:Ensure all client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly prepared for and managedPrioritise and manage the workflow of the accounting function and also to work proactively with the Trust Administration Teams to ensure queries are cleared and financial statements are finalised in a timely mannerTake ownership, prioritise workload and liaise with clients, auditors and other third parties in a professional mannerImprove profitability by reviewing charging structures, fee set-ups, by ensuring the timely billing / invoicing of accounting fees and supporting the Trust Administration Teams with the accounting element of client fee proposalsSupport the Head of Accounting and also initiate and champion change initiatives to ensure improved operating efficiencies, optimum headcount and profitability.

This will include special project work as and when requiredEnsure the timely delivery of high quality and technically accurate financial statements in line with statutory requirements and generally accepted accounting standards (UK GAAP)Be responsible for the preparation and review of complex financial statements and will provide ongoing support to colleagues on technical and ad hoc financial queries and initiativesProduce accurate and timely management information and ensure agreed targets and key performance indicators are met (KPI's)Be responsible to build, lead and manage a team of accountants and bookkeepers at various levels and will provide guidance, development, coaching, mentoring and ensure CPD requirements are adhered toThe ideal candidate for the role of Client Accounting Manager will:Hold a relevant professional accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA) and a fiduciary qualification in addition to this will be considered beneficial (i.e., STEP)Relevant Trust Accounting experience within a fiduciary services environment of which at least 5 years should have included people managementWorking knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory requirementsDemonstrable technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP / FRS102)Experience with Tax ReportingAbility to communicate and deliver presentations at Board levelAbility to use judgement and initiative in applying standard work practices and solving day to day problems
