Data Scientist

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite) Contract: 6 months | Outside IR35 Industry: Technology / Digital Marketplace We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a fast-growing technology business operating a large-scale digital marketplace on an initial 6-month contract, outside IR35.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work across Commercial, Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to develop and deploy machine learning and AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end ML projects, from problem definition and model development through to production deployment, monitoring and optimisation.

Build predictive models for pricing, demand forecasting, customer propensity, personalisation and recommendation systems. Develop and implement GenAI and LLM-powered solutions to improve business processes and customer experiences.

Apply MLOps best practices to ensure models remain scalable, reliable and effective in production. Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions. Design experiments, evaluate model performance and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements Strong commercial experience as a Data Scientist , with proven hands-on Python and SQL skills. Demonstrable experience building, deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production. Strong understanding of MLOps, model monitoring, statistical modelling and experimentation.

Practical experience developing GenAI/LLM applications. Experience with cloud-based ML platforms, ideally GCP/Vertex AI. Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD and software engineering best practices. Strong stakeholder management skills and a commercially driven mindset.

Desirable

Experience in ecommerce, digital marketplaces, pricing optimisation, recommendation engines or customer analytics. Exposure to BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, Looker or Kubeflow would be advantageous. AMRT1_UKTJ ...
