Electrical Design Engineer

Extra Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist electrical manufacturing company based in Hixon, Stafford (ST18).

This is a great opportunity for someone with electrical CAD design experience who is looking for a long-term position within a specialist manufacturing environment.

You will be working alongside an experienced engineering team, producing electrical drawings and designs used directly in the manufacturing of wiring harnesses and cable looms.

• Details of an Electrical Design Engineer
• Pay: £16.83 to £20.19 per hour (dependent on experience)
• Location: Hixon, Stafford (ST18)
• Working Days: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8am to 4pm
• Contract: Full-time, temp to perm
• Weekly Pay
• Day Shifts Only, No Weekends
• Role of an Electrical Design Engineer
• Creating and updating electrical drawings using CAD design software
• Designing wiring harnesses, cable looms and electrical systems
• Producing detailed wiring diagrams, schematics and manufacturing drawings
• Preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists and technical documentation
• Working from customer specifications, sketches and existing technical drawings
• Making amendments to designs and drawings when required
• Working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing
• Supporting improvements to existing electrical designs and manufacturing processes
• Requirements of an Electrical Design Engineer
• Previous experience using electrical CAD design software such as Rapid Harness, AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken E3 or similar (Essential)
• Experience producing electrical drawings and schematics (Essential)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (Essential)
• Experience designing wiring harnesses or cable looms (Highly desirable)
• Understanding of vehicle electrical systems (Desirable)
• Previous experience within electrical manufacturing, automotive or engineering (Desirable)
• Good attention to detail and strong technical understanding
