Electrical Design Engineer Power Electronics & Magnetics Design Gloucester Are you an Electrical Engineer with experience in power electronics, transformers, inductors or magnetic component design? We are recruiting for a specialist engineering business that is recognised globally for its expertise in the design and manufacture of custom magnetic components used within advanced power supply applications. As part of an internationally respected engineering group, the business combines the agility of an SME with the technical support and resources of a global organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to develop specialist expertise in high-frequency magnetics whilst working alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the field. The Role Working as part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team, you will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, from customer requirements and concept design through to simulation, prototyping, testing and manufacture.

Key responsibilities include

Designing transformers, inductors, chokes and other magnetic components for power conversion applications Supporting the development of solutions for switch mode power supplies, DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters and resonant converter technologies Performing electrical, magnetic and thermal calculations Producing technical documentation, specifications and design reports Supporting prototype builds, testing and validation activities Using simulation and modelling tools to optimise product performance Working closely with manufacturing teams to support product introduction Collaborating directly with customers to understand technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions About You We are interested in speaking with engineers ranging from junior level through to more experienced design engineers.
