Job Description SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Office & Finance Manager to join a well-established Nottingham business on a maternity cover contract. Salary: Up to £45,000pa DOE Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover - approximately 11 months Location: Nottingham Working pattern: 4 or 5 days per week considered Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break Working arrangement: Fully office-based This is a varied, hands-on role where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping and finance activities, whilst also supporting with the general running of the office.
Working within a small business environment, this would suit someone who enjoys variety and is happy to take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities. The role will include: Finance & Bookkeeping Acting as the sole bookkeeper for the business Processing purchase and sales invoices Bank and credit card reconciliations Managing payment runs Credit control and debt chasing Processing employee expenses Maintaining the Director's Loan Account Producing reports including sales, cash flow and project profitability Managing fixed assets and depreciation Posting journals Payroll Support Processing weekly workshop timesheets Monitoring and recording overtime Posting relevant payroll journals Supporting with employee payroll queries Office & Business Support Providing day-to-day support to the Director Arranging meetings and coordinating diaries Supporting with quotations and customer queries Checking supplier costs and supporting with project costings Booking travel and accommodation Managing office supplies and general administration Coordinating company vehicle servicing, MOTs and insurance renewals HR & Administration Preparing starter and employee paperwork Maintaining holiday, absence and lateness records Taking notes during meetings and maintaining employee records Supporting with recruitment administration Assisting with Health & Safety administration, including chasing documentation and arranging training
About you
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a broad bookkeeping or finance role and will be comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day accounts of a business. You will ideally have: Previous bookkeeping experience, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations Recent experience using Sage 50 Accounts Good Microsoft Excel skills Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail The ability to manage multiple priorities Good communication skills A proactive and hands-on approach This role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Manager, Finance & Office Manager or within a broad standalone finance position and enjoys working within a small business where no two days are the same.
