Fire Engineer

About the role Our client is a fire engineering consultancy advising on residential, commercial and higher-risk buildings across the UK. Demand for fire strategies has grown under the Building Safety Act, and we need a Fire Engineer to help deliver them.

What you will do Write fire strategies for new and existing buildings across RIBA stages Prepare fire safety information for Building Safety Regulator Gateways 1–3 Carry out fire engineering analysis, including smoke and evacuation modelling Advise architects and design teams on means of escape and fire protection Carry out site inspections and review fire safety on existing buildings Support FRAEW and EWS1 assessments where needed What you need Degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline 3+ years in fire engineering or fire strategy consultancy Strong knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and BS 9991 Understanding of the Building Safety Act and the higher-risk building regime Clear report writing and confident client communication Nice to have CFD or evacuation modelling experience (e.g.

FDS, Pathfinder) Higher-risk residential building experience Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the IFE, or working towards it
