An exceptional primary school in Hackney is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its senior support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of HR across a thriving school with a strong reputation for staff development, collaboration, and educational excellence.

Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you'll help shape the school's people strategy while ensuring outstanding operational HR support across all areas of the organisation. The Role As HR Manager, you'll lead the school's HR function, providing professional advice and guidance to leaders while ensuring HR processes remain efficient, compliant, and employee-focused.

Responsibilities include: Leading recruitment and onboarding across teaching and support staff Managing employee relations, absence management, and performance processes Providing advice on employment legislation and HR best practice Supporting safer recruitment and safeguarding procedures Maintaining HR systems and personnel records Overseeing contracts, policy development, and compliance Producing workforce reports and supporting strategic workforce planning Promoting staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development initiatives About the School This high-performing primary school has built an excellent reputation for academic success and staff retention.

You'll possess excellent employment law knowledge, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to build trusted relationships with leaders across the school. References from your current (or most recent) employer and a previous employer will be required before interview.
