Lead Data Engineer

Overview

As Lead Data Engineer, you will own the design, maintenance, and evolution of large-scale data pipelines that power analytical and ML models. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts and Software Engineers to build robust, scalable data infrastructure. The role focuses on survey data pipelines, anti-fraud model support, and enabling new data science initiatives. You will mentor two junior engineers, drive technical direction, and improve data quality, scalability and reliability. Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and evolve large-scale data pipelines
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts and Software Engineers to deliver robust data infrastructure
• Build and optimise pipelines for survey data and support anti-fraud models
• Support new data science initiatives and data quality initiatives
• Provide technical direction, mentoring, and improve ways of working for two engineers
• Hands-on role with emphasis on scalability and reliability

Key requirements

• 5+ years in Data Engineering
• Strong Python and SQL
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud (AWS or Azure)
• Knowledge of data warehousing (Redshift, Postgres) and DBT
• Familiarity with CI/CD, data modelling and Agile practices
• Experience collaborating with Data Scientists and translating business needs into technical solutions
