Lead Electrical Engineer - Sustaining Clevedon/Bristol (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £53,000 per annum Permanent | Full-Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a highly innovative engineering organisation supporting advanced technology products used across global industrial and manufacturing sectors.

Reporting to the Technical Programme Manager, you will provide technical leadership across sustaining engineering activities, ensuring robust electrical design standards, effective problem-solving, and product lifecycle support.

You'll play a key role in factory support, obsolescence management, engineering change, field upgrades, and continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering activities across sustaining engineering projects.

Chair and participate in design reviews, ensuring compliance, safety, and quality standards. Provide technical leadership on complex engineering problems and product improvements. Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions for field and manufacturing issues.

Ensure engineering solutions are standardised, modular, and reusable where possible. Lead verification, validation, and testing activities. Support engineering change management and configuration control processes. Mentor and develop Electrical Engineers across the business.

Promote engineering best practice and adoption of new technologies. About You Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Significant experience within sustaining engineering, product support, or product lifecycle management.

Strong background in electrical system design, verification, and compliance. Experience leading technical investigations and implementing engineering change. Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, or Kepner-Tregoe.

Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques including FMEA. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Proven ability to lead technical decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
