Lead Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer Salary/Package - £66,000 basic + Car Allowance + Benefits Package Location - Northampton Permanent Position ( Hybrid 2 days office per week ) The Opportunity A solid, well-regarded fire sprinkler contractor has recently become part of a larger fire protection group, and it's looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join its East Midlands team.

You'll split your time between commercial sprinkler design and managing the delivery of your own projects, with real ownership from design through to handover. The business now has the backing of a bigger group, which brings stability, a healthy pipeline and genuine room to progress.

What You'll Do Produce sprinkler system designs and calculations for commercial projects, to BS EN 12845 and LPCB requirements Manage the design and delivery of your own projects, working with the installation team, site managers and suppliers Act as the technical point of contact for clients, consultants and main contractors Review drawings and specifications, and coordinate with other trades to resolve clashes Support estimating and tender stages with technical input Check and sign off the work of junior designers, and mentor them where needed Keep projects on programme and within budget, flagging risks early Support commissioning, handover and close-out documentationWhat You'll Bring Proven commercial sprinkler design experience Strong working knowledge of BS EN 12845 and sprinkler hydraulic design Confident using sprinkler design software (e.g.

HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK or similar) and AutoCAD Comfortable taking on project management responsibilities, or keen to grow into them LPCB Basic Sprinkler Design certification (ideal) Good communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with clients and contractors Able to travel to the East Midlands office twice a week Full UK driving licenceWhat's On Offer £66,000 base salary £5,000 car allowance Hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the office Stability as part of a larger fire protection group Clear opportunity to progress into senior project or technical leadership roles Genuine blend of design and project managementAll applications are handled in confidence.
