Job Description Role: Mechanical Fitter Location: Milton Keynes Contract: Ongoing Contract - Outside IR35 Payment: Via Ltd Company Hours: 37 hours per week, with overtime available Rate: £20 per hour Ltd Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy engineering environment in Milton Keynes.
This is a hands-on technical position within the Rail Industry, involving mechanical fitting inspection, testing, refurbishment and repair work. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working with technical instructions and drawings.
Previous experience within the Rail Industry is essential. Key Responsibilities Carry out typical mechanical fitting duties - including working from engineering drawings with a range of hand and power tools to recondition, fit and repair key components.
Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults where required. Strip down, inspect and rebuild key components. Essential Experience Previous experience within the Rail Industry - essential. Practical experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
Previous experience of equipment repair, refurbishment or fault finding. Ability to follow engineering drawings, technical instructions and workshop procedures. Comfortable completing quality, testing and production documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
