MET Technician

Our client, a manufacturer-approved Accident Repair Group with over 50 years of trading experience, is seeking an experienced MET Technician to join its newly refurbished, fully equipped workshop in New Romney, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MET Technician or Vehicle Technician to develop their career within a respected and growing automotive group.

Basic salary circa £50,000, dependent on experience On-target earnings of approximately £55,000 Monday to Friday working hours, with flexibility around start and finish times 22 days' holiday plus bank holidays Company pension scheme Full systems and process training Supportive management and a quality-focused working environment Long-term development opportunities within a large Accident Repair GroupDuties: The successful MET Technician will complete mechanical, electrical and trim stripping and fitting across accident-damaged vehicles Carry out mechanical and suspension repairs to a high standard Complete steering geometry alignment and adjustment Undertake glazing, minor panel repairs and plastic repairs Prepare and prime new or repaired panels to the first masking stage Evacuate and recharge air conditioning systems Maintain high productivity while prioritising rework and quality standards Provide timely updates to colleagues and follow all health and safety proceduresRequirements: Previous experience as a MET Technician, Vehicle Technician or in a similar mechanical role A minimum of three years' relevant experience is preferred, although our client will consider semi-skilled individuals Strong attention to detail and quality awareness Competent English reading and writing skills Effective communication and multitasking abilities NVQ Level 3 or senior ATA accreditation is advantageous Own tools and equipment Full UK driving licenceThis role would suit an experienced MET Technician seeking a rewarding position in New Romney, or a Vehicle Technician looking to move into the accident repair sector.
