Overview

In this role you guide complex wastewater and urban drainage modelling initiatives within a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team. You will set technical direction, ensure quality, and mentor engineers while engaging with clients to shape long-term, data-led solutions. The position sits at the forefront of digital transformation in urban drainage, helping to improve water quality and resilience across the UK. You’ll influence investment decisions and drive best practices across the AMP cycle, delivering meaningful environmental impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects on major UK water frameworks
• Provide governance and sign-off for modelling outputs and project deliverables
• Develop and apply innovative modelling approaches with digital and data specialists
• Plan, programme and coordinate project delivery including input into cost estimation and resourcing
• Act as line manager and mentor for junior and senior engineers
• Engage with clients in technical discussions, workshops and long-term solution development

Key requirements

• Extensive experience delivering and leading urban drainage modelling projects
• Strong expertise in wastewater modelling and InfoWorks ICM (or equivalent)
• Proven experience providing technical leadership and quality assurance
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing technical teams
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience supporting project planning, programming and delivery
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE or CIWEM)
