NegotiableFarnborough, EnglandPermanentPP&C AnalystThe OpportunityOur client is seeking a Program, Planning & Control Analyst with a strong finance background to support programme delivery through effective financial planning, cost control, and performance tracking.

Working within a Programme Management Office (PMO) environment, this role plays a key part in ensuring that projects are delivered in line with financial expectations by providing accurate forecasting, cost analysis, and performance insights.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Finance and Programme teams to drive informed decision-making and improved project outcomes. Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning and PerformanceSupport project planning activities aligned with defined work structuresAssist in the development and maintenance of detailed project schedulesEstablish and maintain performance measurement baselinesApply performance tracking methodologies to assess cost and schedule progressFinancial Control and AnalysisDeliver robust financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting supportMonitor actual costs versus budget, providing detailed variance analysisMaintain rolling forecasts and Estimates at Completion (EACs)Identify key financial risks and cost drivers, supporting mitigation actionsReporting and MonitoringProduce regular financial and performance reports (monthly and quarterly)Ensure all reporting data is accurate, consistent, and aligned to financial controlsMonitor milestones, procurement activities, and resource forecastsMaintain baseline integrity, incorporating approved changes where requiredCollaboration and GovernancePartner with Programme Managers and Finance teams to align financial and operational performanceProvide financial insight to support decision-making and corrective actionsEnsure adherence to financial processes, controls, and reporting standardsMaintain data integrity across financial systems and reporting toolsCandidate ProfileDegree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or a related field4-5 years' experience in a finance-focused role within project or programme environmentsStrong finance background, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysisSolid understanding of project cost accounting principlesAdvanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or financial systemsExperience with performance tracking methodologies such as Earned Value is advantageousStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data effectivelyUnderstanding of contract terms and their financial implications is beneficial
