About the RoleWe are looking for a Project Cost Consultant to join our site-based commercial team, supporting the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre programme in North East England. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong post-contract commercial management experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment. You will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of large-scale capital works, with a focus on GMP procurement/commercial processes, contract administration, change control, valuations, forecasting and final accounts. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, client representatives and internal project teams to help ensure robust cost control, sound commercial governance and successful project outcomes. What You’ll Be DoingCommercial ManagementSupport the Commercial Director in the commercial management of major capital work packages from procurement through to final accountSupport, and where agreed lead, the development, negotiation and conversion of GMP packages into agreed contract sumsSupport the commercial management of key packages including:

MEPenabling workscivilspilingstructuressteelarchitecturalCSAContribute to the agreement and close-out of final accounts with contractors and supply chain partnersContract Administration and Commercial ControlsSupport the administration of contracts, including FIDIC-based contract processes and commercial governancePrepare and review valuations, payment recommendations and change controlContribute to cost reports, forecasts, CVRs and executive dashboardsReview tender analysis and recommendation reports prepared by the main contractorWork within established financial systems and budgets to monitor cost performance and manage variancesRisk, Reporting and InsightSupport the management of commercial risks, opportunities and contingencyAnalyse commercial data and project documentation to identify trends, issues and opportunitiesProvide clear recommendations to support effective decision-makingEscalate key risks or issues to senior stakeholders where neededCollaboration and Client FocusWork closely with project teams across design, PMO, construction, procurement and commissioningBuild effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, client stakeholders and the wider Arcadis teamContribute to a collaborative team culture focused on delivery, continuous improvement and knowledge sharingSupport service innovation and best practice in cost and commercial managementTeam ContributionSupport and guide junior team members on technical and programme-related mattersContribute positively to team development through coaching, mentoring and sharing knowledgeWhat We’re Looking ForWe welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences.
