Python Trading Engineer

Overview

In this role you’ll join a Trading Technology team at a premier global HFT firm to build and optimize trading systems and algos. You will deliver rapid application development and robust Python-based tooling to support market activities, collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You’ll tackle complex, performance‑critical problems in a fast, open culture that rewards technical excellence. Responsibilities

• Build and enhance trading systems and trading algorithms
• Enable rapid application development and tooling for trading workflows
• Provide financial and operational support to the trading firm
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritise and deliver on projects
• Demonstrate strong debugging, design, and problem-solving skills in a Linux environment

Key requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ Python experience
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• 2:1 STEM Degree from a Redbrick
• Strong programming skills with ability to debug and design complex systems
• Experience in finance, preferably buy-side or sell-side trading firms
• Ability to learn quickly and resolve issues, understand complex systems, and improve processes
• Capability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize projects
