Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - NEC & JCT Contracts

Overview

In this role you will own the estimating and tendering process for Solar PV, EV and M&E projects, ensuring competitive pricing and robust commercial risk management. You will collaborate with Bid, Sales, Design and Project Delivery teams to win high-value contracts across the UK, including NEC/JCT frameworks and public sector opportunities. You’ll review drawings, negotiate suppliers, and identify value engineering opportunities to support growth in renewables. This position offers hybrid working and a clear path to impact on large-scale solar and EV initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, tenders and commercial proposals
• Price Solar PV, EV and M&E projects from enquiry to contract award
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtain and negotiate supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Review NEC/JCT contracts and identify commercial risks
• Support public sector frameworks and tender submissions
• Collaborate with Bid, Sales, Design and Project Delivery teams
• Identify value engineering opportunities and ensure competitive pricing

Key requirements

• Experience as a QS, Estimator, Senior Estimator or similar
• Background in construction, M&E, electrical engineering or renewables
• Strong experience pricing commercial projects
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
• Public sector/framework experience advantageous
• Solar PV, EV or renewable energy experience desirable
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Full UK Driving Licence
