R&D Test Engineer

Overview In this role, you will drive quality across Agilent's Services software portfolio as a senior test engineer. You collaborate with product management, software engineering, architecture, DevOps, and support teams to define strategies and deliver automated quality solutions.

You'll apply modern testing methods, including AI-assisted testing, to mitigate risks and improve release reliability in an Agile environment. This position offers the chance to shape testing practice, mentor peers, and contribute to scalable, high-quality software delivery.

You'll work across CI/CD pipelines and complex systems to enable confident product releases. Pay / Benefits remote work option bonus eligibility stock benefits Responsibilities Own quality planning, test strategy, and validation for one or more software products Participate in Agile product teams with Product Owners, developers, architects, and DevOps Define and execute risk-based testing strategies focused on critical functionality Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, exploratory, API, and automated testing Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions supporting CI/CD pipelines Perform backend and data validation testing including database verification Review requirements and designs for testability and customer value Identify quality risks early and drive preventative engineering practices Root cause analysis and collaboration with engineering to improve product quality Support test environment management, test data strategy, release readiness, and defect governance Drive continuous improvement of testing approaches, frameworks, and processes Mentor junior engineers and lead quality initiatives across teams Support compliance, cybersecurity, and regulatory validation where applicable Key requirements 4+ years of software testing, quality engineering, or software development experience Experience in Agile software development environments Demonstrated experience developing and executing comprehensive test strategies and plans Strong understanding of functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing Experience with test automation frameworks and automated testing practices Experience validating web applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise software Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation skills Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated testing solutions Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins Effective verbal and written communication Cross-functional collaboration Mentorship and technical leadership Test automation frameworks Automated testing within CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) Functional, integration, API, and automated testing
