Residential Care Worker – Young People's Residential Service – Welshpool Are you passionate about making a real difference to young people's lives? We are seeking dedicated Residential Care Workers to join a specialist therapeutic residential service in Welshpool.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a progressive, values-driven service dedicated to supporting boys aged 11-18 with complex needs, including those who have exhibited challenging behaviours. Location: Welshpool Salary: £28,051 - £28,877 per year (plus enhanced overtime options) Hours: A mixture of early shifts, late shifts and long days.

Shifts across evenings and weekends, with a rota ensuring a protected 3-day weekend off every three weeks.

About the Role

As a Residential Care Worker in Welshpool, you will be an integral part of a team providing compassionate, structured care to young people within a highly supportive environment. Your responsibilities include building trusting relationships, managing boundaries, safeguarding, and delivering personalised care that promotes their well-being and development.

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including therapeutic staff, to ensure the boys receive holistic support that encourages positive outcomes. This role involves a diverse range of activities from supporting with homework and cooking to engaging in leisure activities, outdoor pursuits, and everyday routines such as bedtime.

The service's 'therapeutic community' approach emphasises relationship-based practice, offering excellent opportunities for professional development and reflective practice.

Key Responsibilities

Providing emotional support and life skills coaching to young people Safeguarding and boundary management Assisting with activities such as cooking, gardening, gaming, and outdoor adventures Collaborating with education and therapy teams to deliver integrated support Promoting a nurturing environment that encourages growth, resilience, and self-awareness

Requirements
