Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: Immediate Salary: £475-£500 per week Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a permanent opportunity in Welwyn Garden City?

We are looking for a caring, committed and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Welwyn Garden City, supporting children and young people with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in SEN and make a genuine difference to pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and small-group support, helping pupils engage with learning and develop their confidence and independence. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a calm, structured and nurturing environment, while supporting pupils with their individual needs and learning strategies.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in a school or another relevant support setting. You should be patient, consistent and compassionate, with the ability to build positive relationships and remain calm when faced with challenging situations.

Key responsibilities include

Providing 1:1 and small-group support Supporting learning, communication and independence Working alongside teaching staff to deliver individual support strategies Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.

Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support. A patient, caring and consistent approach. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to remain calm and professional when situations become challenging.

A proactive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively. The ability to adapt support to meet individual needs.
