Senior Estimator – Facades & Cladding

Overview

In this role you will lead tenders for our facades and cladding division, focusing on residential high‑rise façade remediation and a healthy bid pipeline from Housing Association frameworks and private clients. You collaborate with Commercial, Design and Operations teams to produce robust, competitive bids and ensure smooth handover after awards. The role combines tender analysis, value engineering and supplier negotiation to drive commercially sound outcomes. This is a growth opportunity within an SME contractor known for specialist façade remediation work.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings and amendments to assess requirements
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using subcontractor returns, quantities and rates
• Perform take-offs, analyze drawings/specifications and bills of quantities
• Source and negotiate competitive subcontractor/supplier quotations
• Attend mid-tender and post-tender meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Assess tender risks and identify gaps in client information
• Review logistics, programme durations, preliminaries and project constraints
• Conduct site visits to gauge project requirements and preliminaries
• Collaborate with Commercial Manager, Head of Design and Head of Operations throughout tender process
• Complete forms of tender, letters, qualifications and Contract Sum Analysis/Schedules
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and value creation
• Prepare comprehensive handover documentation and brief teams on submission

Key requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry
• Proven estimating experience in facades, cladding and/or remedial works
• Residential high-rise project experience is advantageous
• Strong estimating skills and commercial awareness
• Experience using on-screen take-off software (Bluebeam)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender information
• Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills
