Senior ICT Security Designer

Overview

In this role you help design and specify cutting-edge ICT and security systems for HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, shaping critical infrastructure for intelligent, resilient environments. You work closely with project teams to deliver complete construction documents, manage security design across phases, and ensure QA/QC. You’ll operate in a collaborative, employee-owned culture that values continuous learning and impactful projects. Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply ICT/security systems and techniques
• Design and specify ICT/security systems (fiber backbones, cabling, pathways)
• Design and specify security systems (PLC, CCTV, card access)
• Prepare complete construction documents
• Conduct independent ICT/security engineering work with PM guidance
• Write specifications and lead reviews with owners
• Assist other Designers/Technicians and support all security design phases
• Perform QA/QC on others’ work as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years’ ICT/security system design experience
• Familiarity with Autodesk software
• Active participation mindset in employee-owned culture
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a high-velocity environment
